Forge Resilience Counseling
Building Strength Through Healing

About Forge Resilience Counseling
Welcome to Forge Resilience Counseling. I’m Andrew Qualy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing affirming and culturally sensitive therapy to adults 18 and over. In addition to my work with adults, I specialize in working with military members, veterans, law enforcement, fire/EMS personnel, and frontline healthcare workers—populations who face unique challenges and deserve specialized care. My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy is most effective when personalized to your individual strengths, needs, and goals.
I utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I have received specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD. My goal is to help you understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while equipping you with practical tools to overcome difficult experiences and create meaningful, lasting changes in your life.

Comprehensive Evaluation and Diagnostic Assessment
My goal as a therapist is to help people overcome difficult experiences both past and present, and work toward making meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. I strive to create a welcoming and engaging environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. I take a personal and collaborative approach to helping you acquire the tools and resources you need to realize a lifestyle of wellness specific to your needs, challenges, and circumstances.
This process begins during the first session. We will begin with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I will get to know you, work with you to understand what is bringing you in for help, obtain some background information, and most importantly, we will work together to develop a plan for how we will work together. I utilize the DSM-V for all formal diagnoses and will always
Coaching and Therapy for Life’s Challenges
Individual therapy is a one-on-one process that helps supports people in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe and confidential space. Individual therapy can be highly effective in assisting people with managing conditions such as depression and anxiety, processing trauma, navigating life transitions, improving relationships, and deepening self-awareness and understanding. Individual therapy is also effective in assisting clients with the development of coping skills and self-care strategies. All of these elements are foundational in building mental resilience and wellness.
I am currently seeing adults 18 and older for comprehensive telehealth therapy for depression, anxiety, stress management, adjustment disorders, relationship challenges, divorce recovery, family issues, grief/bereavement, and others. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is personalized to the strengths, needs, and goals of each client. I provide personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique needs.
Resilience Counseling for Military, Veterans, Public Safety, and Healthcare Professionals
Uniformed members of the military and all branches of public safety, along with veterans of these professions, face a number of unique challenges. These include trauma exposure, chronic stress and burnout, mental health and alcohol/substance use concerns, issues related to identity and purpose, relationship stress, sleep and physical health challenges, occupational stress, and more. As a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Iraq War, as well as a graduate of the University of St Thomas’s Area of Emphasis in Military Practice (AEMP) program, I am committed to supporting the mental health and resilience of those who serve —through every stage of service and beyond.
To this end, I provide affirming and culturally sensitive telehealth therapy specifically designed for military members, veterans, law enforcement, fire/EMS personnel, and frontline healthcare workers who experience the unique stressors of service. I specialize in providing evidence-based trauma-informed therapy, utilizing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for individuals with a history of trauma and PTSD.
